Marathon

The Marathon's Story Page has more references to Cortana, The Halo Ring page posts new information and a call for a Java Minotaur.

The Orphanage page is starting to shed some new light and the Orbital Arm site has a few new files. Don't forget about The Archives! The results from the Tempus Irae contest have been uploaded.

Myth

Myth updates, The Mill starts to come back online and some interesting info at the MMMC.

Halo

Well, this page speaks for itself. It's continuing trek to take over the Seti lead and great information on some new movies.

PID

Yes, even the PID page has been updated with new posts as you travel down towards the bottom of the pyramid.

January 26th,2000 12:10 p.m.

MWSF Movies

These have been available for a week now, but we've finally put up a web page for them. Go and grab the movies Miguel Chavez (aka Freewill) recorded at MacWorld a few weeks ago!

Myth

Our Myth page has word of a new mapping group, Notio Mortus. Go read about it.

Halo

Lots of news on the Halo page, including word of a remake of the original Halo movie (very nicely done!). Bad news on PS2 ports, and some dubious release dates... it goes on and on.

January 26th,2000 00:30p.m.

Marathon

While on #bungie this evening, I overheard Bo Lindbergh visiting about his efforts to get a working copy of the Marathon 2 Source Code. So as it is, here is a link to grab his latest build. He has posted the following on A.G.M.

No obvious bugs left. One non-obvious bug, a few seconds after switching to a new level, assert(queue->read_index!=queue->write_index) in line 355 > of player.c fails. Weird.

January 25th,2000 2:30p.m.

Marathon

Late update, John Zero wrote in last night concerning his latest update over at the Orphanage. A good update with some files that have been "forgotten". Missed this one, sorry John!

January 25th,2000 8:30a.m.

Marathon

Some interesting images have been sent into The Marathon's Story Page. Although it might be wild speculation, it's still something. At least for all those out there that are dying to find out what the next game is.

Halo

The Halo page has scooped up on some new screens! Are those guys fast or what?

Oni

Here we go again, same song, different verse. This time though Matt even puts his two cents in.

January 24th,2000 7:30a.m.

Marathon

More references to Blam are posted this morning. The Oni, Halo and Story Page all have references to a new employee at Bungie.

Oni

Some unique posts on the forum this weekend. The new acquisition by Bungie along with some interesting details concerning a post.

January 21th,2000 7:30a.m.

Bungie Org Hotline

Special thanks to Peter Cooner(petri@bungie.org) for another, all new, Bungie Org HotLine Server. Late yesterday evening I decided that it was time to put up another HL Server. This was mainly due to the need for disk space and the need to specialize. Within two hours, Pete had the new server up and running and within 15 minutes Claude(errera@bungie.org) had the name plugged into the DNS.

Bungie Org Hotline Server 1 - hl.bungie.org
Bungie Org Hotline Server 2 - hl2.bungie.org

If you are new to Hotline, I suggest you go here to snatch up a client. Once you have the client, click on the connect button and type in hl.bungie.org, or hl2.bungie.org and then hit connect. Both of the servers are linked together, so if you are on one or the other, you will be able to talk to others on either server. Special thanks to Pete for his work and to Claude for his help.

Marathon

A few new files are listed over at The Archives. A neat utility along with a great film package of Marathon Fell. The Marathon's Story Page has updates on Freewill's latest movies, the continuing search for a working compiled Marathon 2 Source Code and a few, very cool, extras. It is very interesting to watch and read the progress of the different groups as they plow on towards a working code.

January 20th,2000 11:30p.m.

MacWorld Movies

Kudos to Freewill, who has released the movies he made while at MacWorld San Francisco a couple of weeks ago. The subject matter is pretty wide-ranging... but some of it's quite good! (Check out the Marty O'Donnell interview especially.) They're all available via ftp here, and should be available on either of the two b.org hotline servers (hl.bungie.org or hl2.bungie.org) by morning. Enjoy!

January 20th,2000 7:30a.m.

Marathon

The release of the Source Code has definitely started the Marathon Community buzzing again. The possibility of a port over to Linux is in the works along with more and more "remarks" being found in the code. Go see what it's all about.

Oni

The Oni page has posted a link to another Oni web site that has appeared on the web. While you are there, check out the forums. The idea of a "traffic" system in Oni is posing some interesting questions.

Myth

The Myth page has some interesting comments about some Myth sites. Updates on some tournaments along with some more news on MMC are all posted this morning.

Halo

Catch the Halo forum? That seems to be the main topic these days. If you're not careful, you could miss a whole thread of posts. The amount of posting that is happening is quite unusual for a game that is still pretty far away from release. The Halo page has also posted Halo art and a brand new Halo fiction section.

January 18th,2000 7:30a.m.

Marathon

More Source Code information then you can shake a stick at. The Marathon's Story Page has the best information concerning this new toy released by Bungie. You won't want to miss the new development list server that has already been set up to field/answer questions concerning this latest find. I am currently working on permission to post it at the Bungie Org Hotline Server. Hopefully today I can provide a mirror.

Halo

Halo sites everywhere. I am constantly amazed at the number of Halo sites that are sprouting up on the web. The Halo page this morning has news concerning more sites and what they might contain very soon.

Myth

The Myth page has two more MMC updates. Make sure to check out the films and catch up on where everyone stands.

January 17th,2000 9:30p.m.

Marathon

The Marathon 2 Source Code? Well, yes, but in a unique way. Go grab it and let us know what you think.

January 15th,2000 11:30a.m.

Halo

The Halo page has had some problems recently due to the high volume of visitors. It looks as if all is fixed for now but make sure to check out all their listed mirrors. Halo sites are still coming up all over the net and the crew has the latest info.

Marathon

The Marathon's Story Page has some very cool news items today. Everything from a conception of the Halo floor to news concering Cortana.

Oni

The Oni page comes up with another webreview today. There are two new screenshots, although one looks very familiar.

January 14th,2000 11:10a.m.

Halo

Bungie has upped Day 4 of bTV to their archives, and we've hacked out the Halo footage for those who can't handle the 277 meg download. We also have a page of screens from the file, in case you want to see what you're getting. Head on over and check it out!

Marathon

Unbeknownst to us, our mirror of the Marathon Spoiler Guide has been broken for a while... we've finally fixed it up. Need hints? We've got 'em!

Oni

Oni Central reports about a development update, straight from the horse's mouth. Read it for yourself!

Myth

Mac Voodoo3 owners can finally play MythII! The 1.3.1 patch is out. Go read about it!

January 13th,2000 11:00p.m.

NMGC Films Redux

Thanks to Alex Vallens, who sent in three new Marathon films from the National Macintosh Gaming Championships, and corrected some mistakes in the original readme. If you haven't grabbed the films yet, the entire set (old and new) can be found at the original locations (2.3 MB):

Full Pack Site 1    Full Pack Site 2

If you DID grab them already, and don't care about the readme errors, you can snag just the new films (650k):

New Films Site 1    New Films Site 2

Enjoy!

Halo

There are now 6 mirrors for the 15-megabyte Halo clip from bTV's Day 3 broadcast. This is good... because Day 4 was just posted at the bTV archive, and as soon as we can get the 280 megabyte monster downloaded and hacked up, we'll put up the Halo footage. I wonder how Akamai is doing?

January 13th,2000 9:30a.m.

Marathon-Orbital Arm

On the heels of the last update I just made comes Orbital Arm with brand new files. For all the Win95 Marathon junkies out there, I have been notified that these files will be a great addition to your map levels.

January 13th,2000 9:00a.m.

Marathon

The Archives once again has received and posted some great files. Marathon 2, Marathon 2 for Win, whatever you are looking for, we have them!

Oni

The Oni page has had some problems lately. We have been experiencing some "files do not exist" errors on the Oni Central Archives page. Thanks to some swift work, these errors have now been corrected.

January 13th,2000 8:30a.m.

Marathon

Some updated news this morning over at the Marathon Scenario News page. A few updates on some ongoing projects along with some comments from project leaders. The Marathon's Story Page has posted news concerning the members of the Halo team. Bungie Net III?

Oni

The Oni Forum board seems to have taken off recently. Topics ranging from net play to character development have been the latest threads. More webreviews concerning Oni and MacWorld have been found, although most contain the same info.

Halo

Jump over and grab the "new" Halo movie. While not new, it is still new footage.

Myth

The Myth page has posted an update to The Myth Master Challenge. For those that are involved in this contest make sure to check out the latest films.

January 11th,2000 10:30p.m.

Marathon films from NMGC 2000

Huge Thanks to both Mac3D.com and Double Exposure for their help in obtaining the films to the Marathon finals and semifinals of the National Macintosh Gaming Championships 2000 Series. There are several films, and the archive is a bit under 2 megabytes, so we've put them on two servers:

They're also available on the bungie.org hotline server, hl.bungie.org.

Enjoy! (The Myth II films should be ready in the next couple of days.)

January 11th,2000 10:30a.m.

MacWorld

Our last images from MacWorld are now posted. Be warned, although the images on the page are only 20K, it takes a while for it to download.

#2=Today?

This was sent into the Bungie Org Hotline Server. Take from it as you wish.

William Dayton: so what is goign on about #2?
Matt Soel: *laughs* well...we expected it to be released much sooner. it should be released next week
Matt:*laughs again* oh..hehehe... well...there's so many ways to answer that....*laughs some more*....well... *staggers*...i guess it's safe to say... yes.
Peter: oh will it be hosted on anythign like B.net?
Matt: no, no, i'm sorry....*peter kinda steps out to check out Oni again, (it's hard to stay away from even compared to matt soel)* *saying fairly quitely to himself matt says* ...not yet anyways.(so quietly that i later consult WIll, if he heard that and he didn't (lucky have good ears :)
Matt: the only reason we aren't releasing it this week is because i'm at macworld. and we have to do one more thing, contact a group of ppl and see if they can host #2 for us.

January 11th,2000 8:30a.m.

Oni

The latest Oni news on the Oni page is the Oni door poster. It looks like Matt is back at it already getting in on a thread over at our forum page. (that's sure a lot of Oni's in a row)

January 10th,2000 2:30p.m.

Matt Soell Interview

Matt Soell was cornered into answering a few questions from roving reporter Claude Errera at MacWorld last week, and the Bungie.org Hotline crew threw in a few questions of their own. Please don't blame Matt. He wasn't entirely sober.

January 10th,2000 8:30a.m.

MacWorld

MacWorld is over but we still have MacWorld images for you. Due to some difficulties, we weren't able to put them up yesterday. Make sure to be checking our MacWorld page today for the latest.

Marathon

Many many updates this morning over at The Marathon's Story Page. Too numerous to list, but some good reading to say the least.

Halo

The latest in Halo information concerning new Halo sites, new Halo web information and new Halo comments straight from the forums.

Oni

The Oni forums are full of new posts concerning Underwater play to the latest with the exiting of Brent Pease. More links to Oni thoughts and remarks concerning MacWorld are listed for your curiosity.

January 8th,2000 5:00p.m.

MacWorld

Thanks to Darian Drake, Director of Operations for Mac3D dot com, for straightening out the miscommunication yesterday regarding competition films (and their distribution). He has facilitated the recovery of many (or possibly all) of the films, and wanted to make it clear that any problems getting these was due to misunderstanding, not malice. (Once again, the problem came from a Double Exposure employee, and it was probably a result of a misimpression that we were trying to scoop Mac3D.com on what is rightfully their coverage.)

For full coverage of the games, go to mac3d.com. To see films of the Marathon and Myth semifinals and finals, check back at bungie.org soon!

January 8th,2000 2:00p.m.

MacWorld

Another group of MacWorld images are on their way up. Check back later this afternoon.

Bungie

All the Bungie TV info and news you could need is over at The Marathon's Story Page. The Bungie Org HL Server has yesterday's Bungie TV episode archived and well shortly be putting up today's show.

Halo

Flashlights and new weapons shown today on Bungie TV. I would presume the Halo forum will be overflowing with news soon! Make sure to put your two cents in.

Oni

Oni news from all over the net. Too much to list the best here, just go on over to our Oni page.
January 7th,2000 6:30p.m.

SPECIAL REQUEST FROM BUNGIE ORG

Due to some colossal unfriendliness on the part of (some of) the staff
of the National Macintosh Gaming Championship at MacWorld SF, we aren't
able to bring you films of the semifinals and finals of the Marathon
and Myth II competitions. (Details had been worked out with two members
of the NMGC crew to quickly grab films between games, but these plans
were torpedoed by a staff member who was more concerned with his own
importance than with helping fan sites spread the good word about the
games.) If you'd like to express your displeasure with the handling
of this situation, feel free to send (reasoned) email to Vinny Salzillo,
president of Double Exposure (the company who produced this event).

January 7th,2000 9:30a.m.

MacWorld

As mentioned last night, I am still waiting on more from MacWorld. Clem did send 4 shots to me last night before his camera batteries bit the dust. Jump on over and take a look. Link 1 Link 2

Oni

More Oni shots coming in this morning. Late last night, there was an update with the new Halo/Oni shots that are featured over at Gamespot UK. The Oni screens were shown yesterday but the Halo community now has something new to look at.

Halo

The Halo page has all the links posted to the latest screens as mentioned above.

Marathon

Friday, the end of week and as usual some great "reads" over at The Marathon's Story Page. Make sure you take the time to read Freewill's post over at the core. (Hamish has a link)

January 6th,2000 10:30p.m.

MacWorld

It looks like our second MacWorld report is going to be a little bit late today. So make sure to check back later on or early tomorrow morning. I have reposted our link to our first day coverage again for any that need it. Link 1 Link 2

Oni

Oni news? We seem to be overflowing with it tonight. It is nice to have so much that we just keep posting almost every two hours. An "unofficial" Oni movie has been found along with some more general comments on Oni gameplay. Make sure to check the Oni page.
Halo

The Halo forum is full of new posts this evening and even though Oni seems to be the MacWorld main attraction, there are reports of new Halo shots along with some new Halo art.

January 6th,2000 7:30a.m.

Make sure not to miss our own Bungie Org report from MacWorld. I am providing two links to help some with the bandwidth. Link 1 Link 2

Bungie Org at MacWorld. Special thanks to Claude Errera , Clem Freeman,Harry Al-Shakarchi!

January 5th,2000 7:30p.m.

MacWorld

MacWorld has started with a bang, and we here at Bungie Org will only be reporting on MacWorld and Bungie Games. Our first report is in and at this time I am compiling, getting some approval's and waiting on the last images before it goes up. Check back in a couple of hours for the latest Bungie Org MacWorld report. In the meantime, Harry has been busy burning up the local internet stops and visiting with his MacWorld ties to bring you the latest concerning Oni. I will make note here that there is a report on the Inside Mac Games web site that states that Oni followers might be a bit dissapointed due to a late 2000 release. I was just contacted by a very good source in Bungie with this:

Please regard the post at IMG concerning Oni as pure speculation.

For more news on this, check Harry's latest update on the Oni page.

January 5th,2000 7:30a.m.

Bungie Org

You will probably notice that most of our pages have gone a bit stale these last two days. This is primarily due to the members of Bungie Org that are at MacWorld. I will start receiving images and news this evening, so make sure to check back later tonight for our first MacWorld update.

Marathon

The Marathon's Story Page has some updates this morning for all of us that are eager to hear the keynote. Thanks to Hamish for providing direct links to the correct page over at Apple. There is also the note of Bungie picking up the tab for FreeWill's get together.

Myth

The Mill is having some temporary problems right now. We ask for your patience as some of the bugs in the transfer get worked out. It should be back up and running full steam very soon.

Bungie

Well it seems that Bungie dot Com is back online. But nothing new as of yet. : (

January 4th,2000 7:30a.m.

Bungie TV

Thanks to everyone who wrote in concerning the Bungie TV press announcement. For the full release I suggest you go to The Marathon's Story page.

Bungie's site went down last night at 8pm (cst). It is believed and wildly rumored that they are updating and it may not be back until after the keynote. I visited the Bungie TV page last night at about 7:30pm (cst), but it seems that directly or shortly after that, the whole site was blocked. I will be sure to post here when it's back online.

Oni

Some Oni updates along with an Alex Okita home page update. This page does have a bit of Oni information. You might have to search, but it's there. I missed it last night but thanks to "bloodhound" Tomeone's eagle eyes, we now know there is some Oni news there.
