The Mill

The Mill is once again alive and kickin', barring any unforseen bugs. We invite you to head on over now and help us celebrate the re-rebirth of The Mill by downloading everything in sight... well, not literally, but you get the idea. In any case, please be sure to read the latest Mill news update before downloading anything.

Marathon

The Aleph One build of Marathon Open Source is updated... sorta. No new features or even a new version number, but this optimized version does run somewhat faster than the current build- check it out at Marathon Open Source.

Head on over to the Story page today for some new fan-created artwork and more information on some cryptic Marathon Infinity terminals.

Mike Trinder's updated Chisel once again, and the latest version (including a way-cool new plugin) is now available at the Archives.

Once again Orbital Arm reports in- apparently they've fixed whatever problems had popped up with Infinity Prime. VacBob now works as well- so you REALLY have no reason not to download this incredible resource pack! If you've already downloaded Infinity Prime, head on over to Orbital Arm to pick up this (thankfully) small update.

DoubleAught.com is back online... and yet it's not DoubleAught.com. What's going on here? The Story page has the details.

As mentioned a couple of days ago, a new netpack that makes use of the Aleph One build can be obtained from the Archives. The interesting thing about this map pack is that it's the first map pack constructed from resources at the Orphanage. More and more mapmakers are beginning to realize that the Orphanage is truly a fantastic resource- head on over and see what's new!

A scripting language for Marathon? Read all about it over at Marathon Open Source. Be sure to put on your sunglasses first- trust me on this one.

Another new scenario announced over at Scenario News. If you have any new scenarios to report, let us know!

This little ol' game just keeps getting better with age! As reported in yesterday's news, the Aleph One build was updated to version 0.7.5 yesterday; be sure to head on over to Marathon Open Source for all the details. There's a shocking new feature in here which will certainly change your viewpoint on Marathon...

Orbital Arm posts some Frequently Asked Questions about their M2 resource updater, Infinity Prime, released yesterday. This one's worth getting, to be sure, but it's an enormous download (19 MB!). Never fear, however- check back later for more download options.

Everyone welcome Matthew Boyd, current maintainer of our Scenario News page. If you haven't been by yet, come check it out- plenty of good news over here... A new scenario due for release soon?

Oni Central rises from the dead... come by and check out the new look!

More activity going on over at Marathon: Open Source. Aleph One reaches 0.7.5, and adds cool features, like a chase cam.

Orbital Arm releases Infinity Prime... a Windows resource pack that allows Windows M2 users to build scenarios with Infinity textures and weapons! Huge, but worth it.

The Archives puts up two new files; an Aleph-One-only map is updated, and a tutorial for building user-configurable teleporters is added. Check 'em out!

The Story page points out a discrepancy in the Infinity plotline, and brings to light a fun page profiling Bungie bigwigs.

Marathon: Open Source finds its 7777th visitor... 1000 visitors later. Also, some news about a new MOS-dependent scenario, and new artwork.

Something's building over at the Orbital Arm... are you ready for it?

Another new file at The Archives: Bo Lindbergh has released Fuxource, which will allow scenario makers to migrate their Fux changes to the source code. Good news for those already heavily invested in existing engines, but interested in the latest options!

The Story page contains some speculation about the parallels between Marathon and Star Trek.

Tons o' news on the Marathon front. Marathon: Open Source reports that Aleph One is up to version 0.7.3 today... you can find details (and new artwork) on the page.

Orbital Arm is getting some weird messages... what's that all about? Have they been attacked?

The Archives has added a new section, for maps requiring Aleph One. A small, annoying date problem has also been fixed. Go get' em!

We were down, we came up, we lost a few days... sorry. (We may still get them back.) In the meantime, most bungie.org sites are up and running... a notable exception is Oni Central. (We hope to have that back online soon.)

As noted on the Story page, Bungie has instituted a point system... the more you buy, the more fun stuff you can get. As Bungie's Jim Ruiz puts it, "Sorta like Marlboro Miles, but you don't have to smoke." Check it out!

The remaining bulk of Tempus maps that were submitted for the Tempus contest are now archived over at The Archives.

The Orphanage is updating again. Make sure to start checking this site as it looks like the release of the Source Code has stirred interest.

More Bighouse news. It seems a few of the residents have been doing some html work and as of yesterday we have added Pfh'Joueur.
